I am trying to learn of the origins of Moorong Estate, 5 miles or so south of Wagga Wagga. The Estate has been broken up and part of it (I think the eastern side) is now Kapooka Army Base. San Isidore is alos situated on part of the land. In the late 1800s I believe either James Tyson Jnr, or James Hill resided at Moorong prior to William Roach taking ownership. William Roach sold a parcel of the land to the Australian Government and another section was (I believe) compulsorily aquired by the Federal Government. Can anyone direct me to where I can get more information.

Hi JillKohlhagenArchive Thnk you very much for you reply to my query. It has answered my question. James Hill married my great grandmother (Eliza Herring Magill) following the death of her first husband. Her daughter Alice Magill Bowen would have lived there with her family until the property was sold in 1906. Eliza was related to the Tyson family through her mother, Barbara (Tyson) Herring.
