Obituary
Mr. George Pattison
The funeral of the late Mr. George Pattison, of Posey Point, Colingullie, took place recently. Prior to leaving St. Michael's Cathedral, Wagga the Rev. Father Condon conducted a short service at which there was a large number of relatives and friends of the deceased, who has known him in Shepparton (Victoria), but are now residing in the Wagga district and made a special point of being present. The cortege was a large one. The carriers were Messrs. Thomas and William Pattison, of Marrar (nephews), and Patrick, Peter and John Quirk, of The Rock. The Rev. Father Condon officiated at the graveside. The chief mouners prsent were the relatives mentioned above, and his bereaved sons and daughter, Messrs William of Wallaboobie, and Timothy Laurence of Posey Point, and Mrs. William O'Connor, of Broad Street, Wagga, Mr. William O'Connor (son-in-law), and Mrs. T. L. Pattison (daughter-in-law). The coffin was covered with beautiful floral tributes.
The late Mr. George Pattison had resided with his son Timothy, at Posey Point, since 1910. Six weeks ago he was admitted to Holborne Hospital, Wagga, suffering with a weak heart. He left hospital on Friday and was spending a few days wit his daughter, Mrs. W. O'Connor, prior to returning to Collingullie. He went for a walk accompanied by his little granddaughter, and his medical advisor stated his heart failed and he collapsed into the water in which he was later found. He was born in Melbourne and was a son of the later Wm Pattison, of Moonee Ponds. He married Miss Mary O'Brien of Kailla, where he has been engaged in farming pursuits until 1913. He had been a devoted memeber of the catholic church and his quiet and unassuming manner had endeared him to a large circle of friends and neighbours by whom he was held in the highest respect - Wagga "Daily Advertiser". George is buried at Wagga Cemetery.

my family knew those quirks at the rock, i have a feeling they moved away to sydney a long time ago. Not sure if this is the same patterson family, as some patersons married into the cummins family still around wagga, one married into the hacket family , one male is still patterson, and a side is related the the paper shop byrne at tolland newsagency.
